INSIDE SIMINEO

Monitoring Before
Scaling

SIMINEO’s monitoring layer was not added to the platform afterwards.

Even in the early development stages, it already included several mechanisms that many systems only introduce later, usually under higher load or with more complex infrastructure.

The goal was not only to prepare for scaling, but to make the system’s behavior understandable and controllable early.

The platform does not only monitor infrastructure metrics. Monitoring also handles several separate event types, such as login anomalies, error sequences, upload processes or unusual behavior patterns.

The system does not only recognize individual errors, but also behavioral patterns.

Monitoring, alerting logic and operator response work as separate layers. Not every event automatically becomes an alert, and not every alert requires the same priority of response.

This matters because overly aggressive monitoring can become a problem over time just like a lack of visibility can. Constant noise can easily hide the events that truly matter.

SIMINEO therefore builds on gradual and controlled alerting behavior. Events are handled based on severity, event type and behavioral patterns.

The monitoring layer is not built as a blocking mechanism, and a monitoring or alerting failure alone must not endanger the platform’s core operation.
