INSIDE SIMINEO
Fail-Safe Upload
& Media Pipeline
SIMINEO’s upload system was not built as a simple media-handling feature.
File handling is treated partly as a stability and integrity problem.
The system does not assume that incoming files are consistent in format, trustworthy or safe in terms of resources.
The upload process therefore passes through several consecutive validation layers.
The system validates file types, sizes, image integrity and certain metadata before the file enters the final processing flow.
The system limits maximum file sizes, image resolutions and the amount of processable resources at several points.
This matters not only because of faulty uploads, but also for controlling excessive resource load and certain abuse patterns.
Media processing is not based only on client-side assumptions.
Files are rechecked server-side, normalized and transformed into a controlled format.
This pipeline relies on deterministic behavior at several points so media states remain predictable and can be handled consistently.
The platform handles filesystem state, database references and the detection of faulty media states separately.
